Resumo

Elevation of forage nutritional value is possible through treatments that can be biological, physical and chemical. The chemical treatment of roughage with low nutritive value allows to improve the digestibility of cellulose and hemicellulose, due to the expansion of the cellulose molecules. The positive results of the ammonization process are evidenced by the increase of the crude protein content and reduction of the fibrous compounds of the treated material.
