BASKETBALL IN FOOTBALL COUNTRY

This article focuses on sportive activity "basketbal!" from the social sciences' point of view. Far from the emphasis on the results obtained in national and international competitions, this paper aims to set the grounds for defining some elements of a sociology and a geography of this collective sport that has never became massive. It points out some reasons that explain this secondary position of basketball in the brozilicn sportive field.
