ABSTRACT

One of the main principles of the phenomenom of referentiation is the idea that there is a negotiation on the elaboration of entities textually erased (MONDADA and DUBOIS, 2003; CAVALCANTE, 2012; CUSTÓDIO FILHO, 2011; CAVALCANTE, CUSTÓDIO FILHO and BRITO, 2014). In an initial formulation (MONDADA and DUBOIS, 2003), such principle is comprehended as it follows: during interaction, subjects participate in order to stablish a common ground upon which referents can be build and, hence, determine textual progression. In other words, this approach assumes that negotiation is necessary for achieving a consensus regarding the referents. We think that the principle of negotiation can be reshaped if we consider two frequent conditions that characterize some discursive niches: 1) regarding political disputes, Amossy (2017) emphasizes that subjects not always have as their aim a dialogue which achieves a balanced proposal for the question in dispute; 2) in the universe of literature and music, the building of objects of discourse can go through some indefiniteness of such objects, this been presumed by the text producer. In both situations, the building of consensual and well defined referents may not be the rule. In this work, we intend to analyze texts of these niches, in order to show that negotiation is not exclusively a collaborative work, but it could be the comprehension of other subject’s speech project and the take of decision regarding this project, assuming that this decision could lead to the building of other meanings for the same referent.
