This article aims to evaluate the Quota Policy at the Federal University of Ceará, considering the experiences of students who benefit from the policy, specifically those favored by quotas intended for students from public schools with a per capita family income equal to or less than 1.5 times the brazilian national minimum wage. An evaluative proposal based on the counter-hegemonic perspective of evaluation was chosen, utilizing the analytical axes of In-Depth Evaluation as conceived by Rodrigues (2008). The research findings indicated that the policy has represented an achievement for such students, extending this achievement to their families and the environment they are part of. Despite the contribution of the Quota Policy to the inclusion of these segments in the university, it is highlighted the necessity of providing conditions to ensure their retention, considering the multiple configurations of poverty experienced by students.
