Educational intervension using a series album on regional food: report of the experiment

Resumo

The objective was to report the experience of using a series album on regional food in an educational intervention with families of preschool children. Experience report study with application of a series album through 70 educational sessions with family members of preschool children from August to September 2009. The results verified that the educational sessions showed how much regional food is being underused by family members due to lack of knowledge of alternative food. We can also observe that as the figures were being portrayed concerning the health eating habits, food hygiene and recipes preparation, the family members shared their experiences, promoting a welcoming and motivating environment. Thus, the album can be characterized as an emancipatory teaching technology, turning the individual into the subject of his own learning.
