Resumen

This research aimed to assess the learning process of teachers, based on educational workshops concerning health promotion for adolescents. This is a descriptive-qualitative study carried out with eight fundamental education teachers in 2009. A questionnaire was used to collect data regarding the knowledge acquired by teachers in educational workshops and the Collective Subject Speech was used to analyze it. Health understanding was evidenced as a requirement for quality of life and health education as tool to awareness and transformation. Teachers enlarged their knowledge on drugs and their consequences; and concerning adolescents’ biopsychosocial changes they presented satisfactory understanding on the main changes that happened in such phase. We believe that the educational process developed was significant for the construction of future practices of teachers with the students.
