Resumo

It is a report of an assistance practice that occurred between September and October 2007 with 20 adult patients hospitalized at the Adult Intensive Therapy Unit of a Teaching Hospital in the city of Curitiba/Brazil. The objectives were: To experience the nursing care based on the Horta conceptual model and to identify the infl uences of the Horta conceptual model in the assistance practice. During the treatment of the patients, twenty three (23) nursing diagnoses were identifi ed for which prescriptions were elaborated. It is considered that the incorporation of the conceptual model of Horta and its respective nursing process in assistance practice supported the clinical reasoning, the selection of the interventions and contributed with the nurse’s performance.
