Risk factors for cervical cancer in HIV infected women

Resumo

The aim of this study was to identify studies that pointed at risk factors for the cervical cancer in HIV infected women. This documental study was extracted from articles published between 1997 and 2008. For so it was used periodic indexed from the two databases MEDLINES and LILACS out of which 50 articles were selected, 20 in MEDLINE e 30 in the LILACS. The works had been categorized in attributed factors of risk: 1) Social determining factors which involved factors, such as: low socioeconomic status; smoking; hygiene; malnutrition; stigma; defi cit of the cervical accompaniment and defi cit of knowledge 2) Sexual exposition enclosed precocious sexual intercourse; multiplicity of partners; oral contraceptives and sexually transmissible diseases; 3) Clinical conditions had involved counting of cells T CD4+ and use of antiretroviral agents. The fi ndings suggest that the intensifi cation of the health assistance for the woman with cervical cancer is necessary, also to identify the risk factors, for the use of interventions in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the cervical cancer in HIV infected women.
